255 hp to 671 hp: What Each 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Trim Actually Delivers

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC lineup covers a wide range of performance outputs, driving characters, and feature sets — all in the same compact luxury SUV body. At one end, the GLC 300 4MATIC delivers efficient mild hybrid power and a well-equipped cabin. At the other, the AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE produces 671 hp from a 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine and a rear electric motor. Between those two points, there are meaningful differences worth understanding before deciding which trim suits your priorities.

This trim-by-trim guide covers the four main variants in the 2026 GLC SUV lineup: the GLC 300 4MATIC, the GLC 350e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid, the AMG GLC 43, and the AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE. Each has a specific performance profile, and each targets a different kind of buyer.

GLC 300 4MATIC: The Efficient Foundation

The GLC 300 4MATIC runs a 2.0 L inline-4 turbocharged engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system and Integrated Starter-Generator. It produces 255 hp at 5,800 rpm and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission routes power through standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 6.2 seconds. Fuel economy is rated at 9.9 L/100 km city and 7.6 L/100 km highway. The mild hybrid system allows fuel-free coasting and recovers energy during deceleration, feeding it back into the 48-volt system.

The cabin comes well-equipped: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch touchscreen with third-generation MBUX, 64-colour ambient lighting, KEYLESS-GO, heated front seats with memory, and standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Towing capacity is 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) when properly equipped.

GLC 300 4MATIC at a glance:

  • 255 hp, 295 lb-ft from a 2.0 L inline-4 mild hybrid
  • 9.9 / 7.6 L/100 km (city / highway)
  • 620 L–1,680 L cargo capacity
  • Towing: 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg)
  • Best for: buyers who want a fully equipped luxury compact SUV with efficient day-to-day running costs

GLC 350e 4MATIC: The Plug-In Hybrid Option

The GLC 350e 4MATIC uses 4th-generation Plug-In Hybrid technology, pairing a 2.0 L turbocharged inline-4 engine with a compact electric motor. Combined system output is 313 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The 9G-TRONIC transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive carry over from the GLC 300, and acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 6.7 seconds.

The electric motor can deliver a power boost on demand, or run independently for up to 87 km on battery power alone. Charging is available via AC from an ordinary outlet — 10 to 100 percent in under 3 hours — or via available 60 kW DC fast charging, which covers 10 to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes. The battery also recovers charge from the gasoline engine and regenerative braking during normal driving.

Towing capacity is 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg) when properly equipped — the highest rating in the GLC lineup. The GLC 350e shares the same cabin tech package as the GLC 300 at the base level, including 3rd-generation MBUX and the 11.9-inch touchscreen.

GLC 350e 4MATIC at a glance:

  • 313 hp combined, 406 lb-ft combined
  • 0–100 km/h: 6.7 sec
  • Up to 87 km of electric-only range
  • AC charging: 10–100% in under 3 hours; available 60 kW DC fast charging: 10–80% in ~20 minutes
  • Highest towing rating in the GLC lineup: 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg)
  • Best for: buyers who want to reduce fuel costs on regular commutes without giving up AWD capability or towing

AMG GLC 43: Performance with Daily Usability

The AMG GLC 43 uses a handcrafted AMG 2.0 L inline-4 turbocharged engine with an electric exhaust-gas turbocharger and a Hybrid Starter-Generator. Output is 416 hp at 6,750 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission and AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive manage delivery.

The 0–100 km/h sprint takes 4.8 seconds. The AMG GLC 43 rides on AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension and uses 3-stage AMG parameter steering with active rear-wheel steering, which sharpens turn-in at lower speeds and improves stability at highway velocities. Towing capacity is 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg).

Inside, the AMG GLC 43 adds AMG-specific interior elements: AMG Performance front seats, an AMG-branded flat-bottomed steering wheel, AMG illuminated door sills, and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT with modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race, and Individual. The exterior features an AMG-specific grille, twin-power-dome hood, deep front apron, and 20-inch AMG twin 10-spoke wheels.

AMG GLC 43 at a glance:

  • 416 hp, 369 lb-ft from a handcrafted AMG 2.0 L inline-4 with electric turbo
  • 0–100 km/h: 4.8 sec
  • Active rear-wheel steering standard
  • AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension
  • Towing: 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg)
  • Best for: buyers who want a daily driver with genuine performance hardware without moving into full AMG territory

AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE: The Flagship

The AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE is the top variant. Its handcrafted AMG 2.0 L inline-4 engine uses an electric exhaust-gas turbocharger sourced from Formula 1 technology and is paired with a 150 kW rear-axle permanently synchronous electric motor. Combined system output is 671 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission sends power through AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.

The 0–100 km/h time is 3.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 275 km/h. The 4.9 kWh high-performance battery supports the electric motor during acceleration and enables a short all-electric driving range of approximately 14 km under the right conditions. Towing capacity is 3,968 lbs (1,800 kg).

Chassis additions include active rear-wheel steering, active roll stabilization, AMG TRACK PACE performance data recorder, and DIGITAL LIGHT LED headlamps. The exterior adds carbon fibre trim, 20-inch AMG wheels with staggered-width runflat tires, and AMG carbon fibre package options. Interior upgrades include AMG Performance front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, and Head-Up Display with AMG content.

AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE at a glance:

  • 671 hp combined, 752 lb-ft combined — from a 2.0 L 4-cylinder and 150 kW electric motor
  • 0–100 km/h: 3.5 sec
