2023 Mercedes-AMG C 43: more advanced than ever

The C-Class is a very important car in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio and for 2023, we get a new generation. There's a lot to get your teeth into.

Of the lot, the details surrounding the C 43 performance variant from the AMG subsidiary. Let's go through all the surprises that this variant has in store for us, because there are many. In fact, Mercedes has outdone itself with the C 43 2023, making this car more advanced than ever.

The engine

What has always been at the heart of the AMG signature are the powertrains, be it four, six or eight cylinders. Well, as a sign of the times, we're going small more than ever at AMG, as the C-Class no longer offers six or eight cylinders with its AMG versions.

Instead of responding to a 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder, the new model responds to a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. However, the new powertrain is more powerful than its predecessor, with 402 horsepower versus 385.

How is this possible? Thanks to a technology borrowed from Formula 1. In fact, the turbo incorporates an auxiliary electric motor that makes the compressor turn faster, which has the effect of eliminating idle time.

With this powertrain is always married a nine-speed automatic transmission, a model of efficiency.

The engine also benefits from a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The latter can provide 13 horsepower at low revs, but this does not increase the total capacity, which remains at 402 horsepower.

The suspension will of course be adaptive and all-wheel drive will be standard. We'll even get a rear-wheel steering system.

Inside

Inside, the model will have the new look of the C-Class sedan, but with a touch of sportiness. The richer materials are replaced by more noble ones, such as carbon fiber and metallic appliqués. The leatherette is present at the height of the seats, which have contrasting stitching for a more successful effect.

In front of the driver, there is always a large screen, as well as the latest version of the MBUX multimedia system. And of course, you can customize your model with a heated steering wheel, performance sport seats, panoramic sunroof, Burmester audio system, navigation, head-up display and wireless charging for cellular devices.

In short, everything is available in a C-Class 43 AMG. Contact us to find out when you can come and see it up close.
