What can we expect from the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is certainly one of the most impressive new electric luxury vehicles to arrive on the market. Based on the flagship EQS sedan, the EQS SUV is the new top-of-the-line electric sport utility vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz electrified vehicle lineup. Offered in two versions with standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive in every model, the new EQS SUV provides the exceptional refinement, advanced technology, and remarkable electric architecture found in the EQS sedan but with improved versatility. If you want an electric vehicle, you want your electric vehicle to deliver the highest level of comfort and luxury with state-of-the-art features, and you want a lot of interior space, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is for you.

Let's take a look at what the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV has to offer.

Two versions with a lot of all-electric range

There are two versions of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV offered on the market. The starting point is the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV which starts at $136,000. The other is the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC SUV which has a starting price of $158,500.

The difference can be found in the performance that each model offers. The EQS 580 4MATIC SUV provides a dual permanently excited synchronous electric motor that delivers 516 hp and allows you to reach 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The EQS 450 4MATIC SUV also features a dual electric motor set up that delivers 355 total horsepower, enough to power you to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

This is the main difference between these two models. Aside from the power delivered by their electric powertrain, the EQS 450 4MATIC SUV and the EQS 580 4MATIC SUV are quite similar. Both feature a 107.8-kWh battery that provides 459 km of range.

Both also offer over 2,000 L of total cargo space and you can get an optional third row in the EQS SUV. Moreover, the EQS SUV features many of the same technologies found in the EQS sedan including the large HYPERSCREEN centre display that provides three distinct screens, all joined together in a middle display that stretches across the entire dashboard. The effect is outstanding and the luxury you feel when you get behind the wheel is second to none.

Other features such as rear-wheel steering vastly improve the agility of the EQS SUV in the city or when parking in tight spots. The comfort meanwhile is exactly what you want from a premium Mercedes-Benz product with a quiet interior, seats that provide the perfect balance of comfort and support, and remarkable softness from the suspension when driving over potholes and bumps.
