Three Features that Keep You Safe aboard the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is one of the safest compact SUVs on the market due to a number of advanced safety features, some of which are exclusive to Mercedes-Benz.

Intelligent brakes

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is equipped with a standard braking system that is full of technologies. For example, a computer calculates the time it takes for you to take your foot off the accelerator and onto the brake pedal. If it detects this time is shorter than usual, it immediately applies the full braking force to reduce the distance before the GLB stops. When it is raining, the brakes are applied gently at set intervals in order to remove the excess water on the discs that could reduce the braking performance and when starting on a hill, the brake pads are kept engaged for a couple of seconds so the vehicle doesn’t roll back into the car behind you while you move your foot to the accelerator.

The Evasive Steering Assist

If a collision is about to occur and you try to steer away from it, this system available on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB will apply a calculated force to the steering system to help you turn the wheel enough so that the obstacle is cleared. Once the danger is passed, the system also helps you return to your trajectory and stabilizes the vehicle.

The Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call

If an accident does occur, the Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call system will automatically place a call to the emergency services, who will have access to the GPS location of your GLB. This could help save your life if you require urgent medical care, even if you are not able to call for help yourself. If an emergency occurs without activating the system, you can do so yourself by pressing a button on the ceiling. Another button can get you in touch with the roadside assistance service in case you have a flat tire or you need to have your battery replaced, among other scenarios.
