2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Pricing and Features Overview

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is the brand's initial fully-electric van in North America. Mercedes-Benz Vans Canada has recently announced the pricing for this model, which is set to launch in the Canadian market, revealing a fusion of efficiency, range, and load capacity, coupled with several technical innovations.

Pricing and Availability:

The eSprinter, available in a 170'' long wheelbase cargo version with a high-roof configuration, will start at a base MSRP of $97,990. It will offer a WLTP range of over 400 km, and Canadian dealerships will start receiving orders at the end of October 2023. Moreover, this model will be eligible for the federal government's iMHZEV EV program purchase incentive, which can provide up to $10,000 in savings, along with possible qualifications for provincial incentive programs.

Technical Specifications:

The eSprinter is equipped with a 113 kWh battery, utilizing lithium/iron phosphate technology, eliminating the use of cobalt or nickel, contributing to durability ideal for light commercial vehicles. The on-board AC charger has a maximum output of 9.6 kilowatts, while the standard maximum output at DC fast-charging stations is up to 50 kW. An optional upgrade is available for DC Fast Charging up to 115 kW, enabling the battery to charge from approximately 10% to 80% in just over 40 minutes.

Mercedes me Charge provides access to an extensive nationwide network of charging stations, offering integrated payment functions through the Mercedes me connect app for convenience and simple billing processes.

Drive System and Performance:

The electric drive system in the eSprinter is available in two power levels: 100 or 150 kilowatts of peak output, equivalent to 136 hp or 204 hp, respectively, both delivering a torque of up to 295 lb.-ft. for at least 30 seconds. To maximize efficiency, the model features three different drive programs and five recuperation stages, coupled with an automatic function to define the energy recovery rate based on the traffic situation, radar sensor, and navigation data.

Interior and User Experience:

Inside, the optional Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) utilizes the latest software generation, featuring Artificial Intelligence and an intuitive operating system, which can be operated via Voice Control, the touchscreen, touchpad, and touch control buttons on the steering wheel. The system can display various content such as current range, navigation map, or consumption data in real-time depending on the traffic situation and route topography.

Further, the eSprinter offers pre-entry climate control, allowing the selection of departure time and desired interior temperature in advance via the Mercedes me connect app or via the MaxComfort button in the vehicle.

Customization and Load Capacity:

The eSprinter can be customized to serve as a mobile workshop or a spacious delivery van, with upfitting solutions available through Mercedes-Benz Canada's eXpertUpfitter partners. The load capacity is 14 m³, and the permissible gross vehicle weight is 4.25 tonnes.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter, with its innovative features, technical advancements, and customization options, offers a glimpse into the future of electric commercial vehicles. With its launch in Canada, potential buyers, especially those with a focus on sustainability and emission reduction, can look forward to exploring this fully electric van as a viable option for their fleet. The range, combined with convenient and efficient charging solutions, makes the eSprinter a practical choice for those seeking to combine eco-consciousness with Mercedes-Benz's renowned reliability and innovation.
