2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB: have you thought about it for your family?

If you're choosing a vehicle for your family, there's no shortage of choices. And there are certainly a lot of factors to consider, including price, interior space, seating capacity and fuel efficiency.

A wagon is always an interesting choice, but you have to deal with a larger model and higher fuel consumption. This is often the price to pay when you want a product that can accommodate more than five people.

However, there are exceptions in the market and the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is a good example. This is an unpretentious SUV that offers a convenient size to drive, an ingenious interior layout, room for seven people, and performance at the pump that allows us to breathe despite rising fuel prices.

If you haven't thought about the 2022 GLB for your family yet, the following may change your mind.

Design

What makes the GLB so magical is the secret behind its design. By opting for a very square shape, Mercedes-Benz allows its creation to stand out from the crowd on the road, but also allows the interior space to be maximized.

As a result, it is possible to opt for a seven-seat configuration on board, which increases the possibilities tenfold. Better yet, the way the seats are arranged allows for a lot of room for people or equipment. For example, the second row has a 40-20-40 split, making it possible to sleep one seat or one seat and the middle space, while still accommodating a third person on board. Better yet, the second seat is mounted on a slide, so it can be pushed forward to make it easier to get to the third seat, or to pile more stuff in the back.

Basically, with the seats down in the back with a five-seat model, you get 1755 liters of space behind the first row. With the seats up, it's still 765 liters that are at our disposal. It drops to 1606 and 680 liters, respectively, with the seven-seat models, but it's still really excellent.

And the comfort is more than decent in the second row. In the third row, the little ones will love it and the older ones will be happy to simply enjoy the transportation offered as an emergency measure.

It's hard, in fact, to find an SUV as practical and well-appointed as the Mercedes-Benz GLB in the luxury subcompact SUV category.

Behind the wheel

The GLB is a real pleasure to drive, whether it's equipped with the base engine (a 221-horsepower, 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder) or the spicier version (302 horsepower).

With the former, fuel consumption is more than reasonable at 10.3 L/100 km in the city and 7.8 L/100 km on the highway. All this while benefiting from Mercedes-Benz's incredible all-wheel drive system, the 4MATIC approach.

And the comfort is truly divine. In fact, you feel like you're driving a more expensive, higher-class vehicle when you drive the GLB.

This is truly an SUV to discover. In fact, a visit to the dealership to take a closer look is a must. We'll be there to answer your questions.
